We will continue our look at the history of the Jews of America, beginning with the period of World War I. This was a time of great change, and great challenges, for America’s Jews. A huge immigrant community and patriotic fervor between the two world wars resulted in a radically different Jewish community. We will discuss those challenges and the emergence of a radically different American Jewish community. Although this is a continuation of the fall course, that isn’t a prerequisite—newcomers are welcome.
This will be a lecture course, with plenty of time set aside for questions and comments.
